Client Contacts tab overview

The Client Contacts tab is where contact details for important individuals or organisations associated with the Client are captured and stored. This may include Personal Contacts such as the Client's Primary Contact, NDIS Nominee, Next of Kin, or Shared Contacts such as Doctors or other Disability Service providers.

This article provides an overview of the different sections of this tab in the Client record and includes a section regarding related learning content for reference.

Client Contacts tab overview

The Client Contacts tab is divided up in the following sections:

  • Personal Contact Roles - This is where the Client themselves or another Contact can be nominated as the Primary Contact and/or Billing Contact.
  • Contact Notes - A free text field where notes can be left relating to the Client's Contacts
  • Personal Contacts - These Contacts (e.g. parents or siblings) relate only to this specific Client. At least one Personal Contact must be added on the Contacts tab in order for the Client record to be deemed 'complete'.
  • Shared Contacts - These Contacts (e.g. Doctors or Disability Service providers) are created as Shared Contacts and can be linked to multiple Client records

N.B. It is important to clarify that a Billing Contact is only required to be added here when a Client is Self Managing their NDIS Funding, or your organisation needs to generate Non-NDIS or Billable Client Invoices to a personal contact of the individual. If a Client has a Plan Manager, we do not recommend adding them here as this is managed in a different way in SupportAbility. Please see the Creating a Non-NDIS Financial Plan Management (FPM) Contact article linked below for more information regarding how to set up Plan Managers in SupportAbility.
