How to generate a Client Funding Statement
The Client Funding Statement is a print report that can be generated for the relevant funding source for each Client based on the required date range. It is important to note Client Funding Statements must be generated one at a time from an individual Client record. It is not currently possible to generate bulk Client Statements.
This article outlines how to generate and download the Client Funding Statement in PDF or CSV format.

What access and privileges are required to generate a Client Funding Statement?
The following access and Staff Account privileges are required in order to generate a Client Funding Statement:
- Access to the relevant Client is required by either,
- working in a Site and Service in common with those the Client participates in, or
- by having either of the following global privileges: 'Team Leader for ALL Services' or 'Edit Client Records Across ALL Services', and the
- 'View Financial Information' privilege
Where do you generate a Client Funding Statement?
The Client Funding Statement can be accessed from two different locations:
- From within a Client record
- From within a Client Funding record
From within a Client record
The Client Funding Statement can be accessed from any tab within a Client record (e.g. Status tab, Activities tab or Documents tab).
This is done by selecting 'Client Funding Statement' from the Print menu in the top right corner of the screen.
After selecting the Client Funding Statement option from the Print menu, the report generator will open in a new tab and includes the following search criteria:
- Client Funding
- Report Start Date
- Report End Date
The 'Client Funding' field provides a list of all current and historical Funding records relating to the Client.
By selecting a Funding record, the Client Funding Statement limit data to that specific Funding record.
The 'Report Start Date' field limits the data included in the Client Funding Statement to expenditure on or after the specified date.
The 'Report End Date' field limits the data included in the Client Funding Statement to expenditure on or before the specified date.
Once the necessary search parameters have been set the report can be generated by clicking on the 'Generate Report' button.
The Client Funding Statement results will appear once the report has been generated as outlined below.
From within a Client Funding record
The Client Funding Statement can also be generated from within a specific Client Funding record.
This is done by selecting 'Client Funding Statement' from the Print menu in the top right corner of the screen.
When accessing the Client Funding Statement from within a Client Funding record, the 'Client Funding' field will not be available as a search parameter. This is because the data in the search will recover data relating to the Client Funding record that was used to navigate to the Client Funding Statement generator.
The 'Report Start Date' field limits the data included in the Client Funding Statement to expenditure on or after the specified date.
The 'Report End Date' field limits the data included in the Client Funding Statement to expenditure on or before the specified date.
Once the necessary parameters have been set the report can be generated by clicking on the 'Generate Report' button:
The Client Funding Statement results will appear once the report has been generated as outlined below.
Viewing the Client Funding Statement results
Once the Client Funding Statement has been generated, the results will be displayed in the same browser tab, below the search fields.

Downloading a Client Funding Statement
Once a Client Funding Statement has been generated it can be downloaded in order to share the information with the relevant parties.
Many providers choose to generate monthly Client Funding Statements for each participant that is downloaded from SupportAbility and then emailed to the Client directly. NDIS Statements can be exported and some providers choose to export this data in CSV format, for use in pre-configured form templates outside of SupportAbility and send these in bulk.
It is possible to download the Client Funding Statement in either PDF or CSV format as outlined below.
Downloading as a PDF
Downloading the Client Funding Statement in PDF format is a suitable option when the information needs to be shared in an easy to read and uneditable manner.
This is done by clicking the print icon at the top of the screen.
The Browser's 'Print' window will open up making it possible to save the print as a PDF or send it to your preferred printer in order to print off a hard copy.
N.B. When saving the Client Funding Statement in PDF format or printing a hard copy, it is strongly recommended that it be saved in landscape orientation.
Downloading as a CSV
Downloading the Client Funding Statement in CSV format is a suitable option when the data needs to be used for reporting purposes or used to populate a custom Client Funding Statement template.
This is done by clicking the 'Export Report' button.
N.B. The ability to export this report is only available for NDIS Funding.
The CSV export includes the following data fields:
- Activity Date - Date of Service delivery, noting that only the From Date is listed here for reference
- Quantity - NDIS Support Allocation Quantity
- Reference Number - Support Item reference number
- Support Item - Support Item Reference Number and Name, as per the NDIS Support Allocation, the Portion is included in brackets where relevant e.g. (1:3)
- Claim in Progress - Claim in progress 'YES' appears when a Client's Funding is Agency Managed and the NDIS Support Allocation is included in a Signed Off Activity that is awaiting inclusion in a Direct BPR, or has been included in this process but is not yet Accepted.
- Support Category Number
- Support Category Name
- Activity - Activity Description
- Cost Type - As selected for the relevant Transport, Activity Based Transport, or Provider Travel Non-Labour Costs Supports
- Claim Type
- Short Notice Cancellation Reason
- Price - NDIS Support Allocation Price, where a Portion has been utilised, it is important to note that the Price listed is the apportioned Price
- Unit of Measure
- Total - NDIS Support Allocation Total Value
