NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limit Updates - 2026/27

When the NDIA releases a new Pricing Arrangements and Price Limit Updates document (colloquially known as the NDIS Price Guide), it often brings with it many changes.

Updates to the NDIS Price Guide outside of July 1 are also common. This article is used to communicate any and all changes in relation to updates related to the 2026/27 NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits to SupportAbility subscribers.

2026/27 Support Item updates, important Allied Health update and release timing (published on the 1st of July, 2026)

Following the release of the 2026/27 Price Guide and our review of the newly published Support Catalogue, we have identified two updates to the Support Item data that we are currently working on.

These will be delivered in a release scheduled for Thursday evening, the 2nd of July, 2026, now instead of the anticipated hot fix, and will be available on Friday morning, the 3rd of July. The data migration for the release itself takes around four hours, which must be completed overnight, which is why the changes will be in place on Friday morning rather than overnight tonight.

1. Allied Health modifier Support Items added as separate items

The 2026/27 Support Catalogue introduces the Allied Health and therapy modifier items (Cancellation, Non-Face-to-Face, Provider Travel, NDIA Requested Reports and Telehealth) as separate Support Items, each identified by a suffix on the item number. This release adds these as their own Support Items in SupportAbility, with each mapped to its relevant Claim Type, so they can be found, allocated and claimed correctly for services delivered from 1 July 2026.

IMPORTANT - Providers delivering the affected Allied Health supports should hold off on completing allocations, signing off, or claiming for these items until the release is available on Friday morning, the 3rd of July, 2026, to ensure the correct items and Claim Types are used.

2. Re-adding legacy Short Term Accommodation (STA) Support Items

Our review of the 2026/27 Support Catalogue confirmed that the 16 ratio-based STA Support Items in registration group 0115 (the 1:1 through 1:4 items previously listed as removed) are, in fact, retained as Legacy Support Items with an end date of 30 June 2027.

This release re-adds these as legacy items against the 2026/27 Price Guide, so providers who need them can continue to bill against them for the full 2026/27 financial year before they retire on 30 June 2027. This is consistent with the transition from the 0115 to 0138 SIL registration group described below.

2026/27 NDIS Support Catalogue comparison complete, hot fix to address this and a bug with Allied Health Modifier Support Items expected soon (published on the 1st of July, 2026)

A quick update from our end, our analysis of the Support Catalogue vs. the 2026-27 Pricing Schedule is complete.

The only thing that we need to update is to ensure the previous STA items with the ratios baked in that were removed, e.g.  01_045_0115_1_1 - STA And Assistance (Inc. Respite) - 1:4 - Weekday, are re-added to the 2026-27 Price Guide, as 'Legacy' items as according to the catalogue, they're valid in this capacity until the 30th of June 2027.

We have also identified a bug where the Allied Health modifier items weren't displaying the suffix correctly, e.g. 01_665_0128_1_3_CA

We'll address both issues with a hot fix as soon as possible and will advise.

2026/27 NDIS Support Catalogue now published, comparison underway (published on the 1st of July, 2026)

We arrived this morning to discover that the 2026-27 Support Catalogue had been published last night, with no announcement. This is a significant development, as until now only the Pricing Schedule (price tables) had been released, without the full rules document or a new Support Catalogue.

As outlined in the sections below, our approach for the 1 July update was to apply the pricing from the 2026/27 Pricing Schedule while continuing to rely on the structural rules from the 2025/26 Support Catalogue where the Schedule did not provide them. That approach remains in place for the prices released into SupportAbility for services delivered from 1 July 2026.

Now that the 2026/27 Support Catalogue is available, our team has begun a full comparison against the 2025/26 Support Catalogue and our interim approach. This review covers the structural attributes the Pricing Schedule did not provide, including Claim Types, the new Allied Health modifier items and Telehealth Claim Type, the 0138 SIL registration group items, Quotable and Notional Unit Price Supports, and the added and removed Support Items.

N.B. No action is required from subscribers at this stage. The prices already loaded for 1 July are not affected by this review. We will update this article with our findings, and make any further changes in SupportAbility, once the comparison is complete.

We are also continuing to monitor for the full Pricing Arrangements (PAPL) rules document, which sets out the claiming, travel, cancellation and non-face-to-face provisions, as that remains relevant alongside the Support Catalogue.

2026/27 NDIS Pricing Schedule added to SupportAbility (published on the 1st of July, 2026)

The 2026/27 NDIS Pricing Schedule - effective 1 July 2026, was added to SupportAbility last night, Tuesday evening, the 30th of June, 2026.

This is now in use in Activities & External Invoices for services delivered on or after July 1st, 2026. that are not Signed Off, e.g.:

This year, the NDIA published the Pricing Schedule (price tables only), without a full Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (PAPL) rules document or a new Support Catalogue. Our approach is to apply the 2026/27 prices while continuing to rely on the rules in the previous 2025/26 Support Catalogue for structural attributes not provided by the Schedule. Once the full rules document and the new Support Catalogue are released, we will conduct a thorough review and update SupportAbility accordingly.

As part of this release, 33 Support Items have been added and 25 removed. The new Allied Health modifier Support Items have been added as separate items, each mapped to the relevant Claim Type, including a new Telehealth Claim Type. For example, 01_661_0128_1_3_NF will appear as such and map to the 'Non-Face-To-Face' Claim Type only.

SIL providers: please note a new registration group (0138) replaces the previous 0115 Items for SIL supports delivered from 1 July 2026 for registered providers. Funding records using Support Item Budgets will need to be reviewed, and NDIS Support Allocations for services delivered on or after the 1st of July, 2026, will need to be updated to the new 0138 Items where relevant. Please see below for more details regarding this.

N.B. The only exception to this is where a Client's Price Guide Transition settings are configured not to utilise the latest Price Guide in Activities.

For a summary of the changes included, please take a look at the previous updates to this article below.

Confirmed Support Items added and removed in the 2026/27 NDIS Pricing Schedule, and a reminder of release timing (published on the 29th of June, 2026)

As we prepare to release the 2026/27 Price Guide, we wanted to provide a reminder of the timing and our approach, along with a confirmed list of the Support Items that have been added and removed in the Pricing Schedule.

A reminder of the release timing and our approach

The 2026/27 NDIS Pricing Schedule will be added to SupportAbility on Tuesday evening, the 30th of June, 2026, for services delivered on or after the 1st of July 2026. Noting that this will only be utilised in Activities after July 1st, 2026, that are not Signed Off.

N.B. This will continue to be called the Price Guide in SupportAbility, e.g. Price Guide: VIC 2026/27 - July 1st

As outlined in the section below, the NDIA has published the Pricing Schedule (price tables only) without a full PAPL rules document or a new Support Catalogue. Our approach is to apply the pricing from the 2026/27 Pricing Schedule while continuing to rely on the rules from the previous (2025/26) Support Catalogue for the structural attributes the Schedule does not provide, where applicable. Once the full rules document and new Support Catalogue are released, we will complete a full review and update SupportAbility and this article accordingly.

Summary of changes in the 2026/27 NDIS Pricing Schedule and expected release date (published on the 25th of June, 2026)

Our initial analysis of the 2026/27 NDIS Pricing Schedule has been completed, and we can now confirm our approach, the expected release date of the new Price Guide, and a summary of the changes identified so far.

Importantly, this year the NDIA has published the Pricing Schedule (price tables only) along with the Annual Pricing Review, but a full Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (PAPL) document and a new Support Catalogue have not yet been released. Our approach below reflects this.

What we understand so far

We do not have a confirmed timeline from the NDIA for the full rules document or a new Support Catalogue, and based on what we have gathered from sector contacts, the position is genuinely uncertain.

The broad picture, drawn from industry commentary rather than any official NDIA statement, is that the Agency had anticipated amendments to the NDIS Act passing, which would have given the Minister greater power to set pricing and billing rules. With those amendments not yet passed, the NDIA appears to have released the Pricing Schedule as an interim measure while a full PAPL and Support Catalogue are still being prepared.

Many providers, systems and CRMs rely on the Support Catalogue, so its release is significant. Whether it appears in the days around 1 July or later is not yet clear, and we will update this article as the position becomes clearer.

Return to Summary

Expected release date

We expect to add the 2026/27 NDIS Pricing Schedule into SupportAbility on Tuesday evening, the 30th of June, 2026. Noting that this will only be utilised in Activities after July 1st, 2026, that are not Signed Off.

N.B. This will continue to be called the Price Guide in SupportAbility, e.g. Price Guide: VIC 2026/27 - July 1st

Return to Summary

How we are managing the missing PAPL and Support Catalogue

Because the Pricing Schedule contains prices but not the full rules, our approach for the 2026/27 Price Guide is to apply the pricing from the 2026/27 Pricing Schedule while continuing to rely on the rules from the previous (2025/26) Support Catalogue for the structural attributes the Schedule does not provide, where applicable. This includes Claim Types, Notional Unit Price Supports, Quotable Supports, Price Limit Supports and Legacy Supports.

This allows us to update prices accurately for 1 July while the NDIA's full rules document and new Support Catalogue remain pending. Once those are released, we will complete a full review of the claiming and compliance rules and update SupportAbility and this article accordingly.

What has changed in the latest Price Schedule?

Comparing the 2025/26 Support Catalogue against the 2026/27 Pricing Schedule, 25 Support Items have been removed and 33 Support Items have been added. We have also identified new Allied Health modifier line items. We will confirm the detail of how each affects claiming once the rules document and Support Catalogue are available.

Analysis Summary
  • 25 Support Items have been removed, including:
    • 9 Assistive Technology, Hearing and SDA Support Items
    • 16 Short Term Accommodation (STA) Support Items that included support ratios (1:1 through 1:4).
      • The Annual Pricing Review explains that the previous bundled daily price is being split into an accommodation component aligned with the Medium Term Accommodation rate ($158.66), plus new "Short Term Accommodation – Assistance with self-care or community access activities" Support Items structured by day and time against the Disability Support Worker (DSW) Cost Model, plus High Intensity and behaviour-of-concern loadings where appropriate.
      • From what we can gather, these new items replace the ratio-based STA items being removed.
  • 33 Support Items have been added, including the SIL Support Items associated with the new registration group 0138 – Assistance with Supported Independent Living (see the SIL section below).
  • New Allied Health modifier line items have been added, including separate items for supports such as Provider Travel, Non-Face-to-Face, Reports and Telehealth.
    • We are mapping these to SupportAbility's Claim Type model, including the addition of a new Telehealth Claim Type.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) - action required for SIL providers

The NDIA has confirmed new claiming requirements for SIL from 1 July 2026 (see the NDIA's SIL Claims and Payment Changes from 1 July 2026). In summary:

  • For SIL supports delivered before 1 July 2026, continue using the existing code 0115 – Assistance with daily life tasks in a group or shared living arrangement.
  • For SIL supports delivered from 1 July 2026, use the new code 0138 – Assistance with Supported Independent Living.

SIL providers should ensure their NDIS Support Allocations are updated so the new 0138 Support Items are used for services delivered on or after 1 July 2026. Existing Allocations referencing the old 0115 items should be reviewed and the relevant new items added for ongoing service delivery.

Return to Summary

New 0138-prefixed Support Items for SIL providers

As part of the structural changes to registration groups in the 2026/27 Pricing Schedule, a new registration group has been introduced for Supported Independent Living (SIL), with the associated Support Items now carrying a 0138 prefix in place of the previous 0115 Items.

Where your organisation is a registered provider of SIL and currently uses the 0115 Items, you will need to manually update your Funding records and NDIS Support Allocations to reflect the new 0138 Items where relevant. The new 0138-prefixed Support Items can be added as required, and the old 0115 Items can be made unavailable as, when or if required.

To make this easier when the time comes, there are two reports that can help you identify the records that need reviewing:

  • If your organisation is using Support Item Budgets, the Client Funding Search will be helpful. This lets you filter active or current Funding records by Support Item, so you can pull a list of any Funding records containing the old 0115 Items that need to be reviewed. From here, the new 0138 Items can be added and the old 0115 Items made unavailable as required.
  • To find existing NDIS Support Allocations referencing the old 0115 Items in Activities beyond July 1st, or the required period, the Allocations Report can be used.

Return to Summary

What this means for you

For most subscribers, there is nothing you need to do. The price update will be added to SupportAbility on the evening of the 30th of June, 2026, ready for services delivered from 1 July.

The exception is SIL providers, who should ensure the new 0138 Support Items are in place in their NDIS Support Allocations for services delivered from 1 July 2026, as outlined above.

This year, it appears that the NDIA has split the previous combined Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (PAPL) document into two separate documents. The first of these, the 2026/27 NDIS Pricing Schedule, has been published on the NDIS website. This document contains the price tables only.

The second document, which sets out the claiming rules, travel, cancellation, non-face-to-face and support category provisions, has not yet been published.

The team at SupportAbility is currently analysing the price changes in the Pricing Schedule, and we will provide more information as soon as possible.

A full review of the claiming and compliance rules will follow once the second document is released by the NDIA. In the meantime, there are a few structural changes visible in the Pricing Schedule that subscribers may wish to be aware of.

We will confirm the details of how these affect claiming once the rules document is available:

  • Possible change to the legal status of price limits. The Pricing Schedule references the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026, introduced to Parliament on 14 May 2026. This Bill proposes giving the Minister the power to make a binding pricing determination, which would move these prices from NDIA guidance toward enforceable limits. This is contingent on the Bill passing.
  • Short Term Accommodation (STA) ratio items. The 1:1 through 1:4 STA ratio items have been removed. The rules confirming the new claiming approach are expected in the second document.
  • Structural changes to registration groups, e.g. new SIL registration group (0138). Where these structural changes affect Support Items that providers currently use, existing NDIS Support Allocations referencing the old items will need to be reviewed and updated to the relevant new items to ensure they map correctly against the 2026/27 Price Guide. We will provide more specific guidance on this once our analysis is complete and the rules document is available.
  • Therapy modifier line items. Cancellation, non-face-to-face, Provider Travel, Reports and Telehealth now appear as separate line items. The claiming logic for these is expected to be set out in the rules document.
  • Isolated Towns travel (Schedule 11). The Isolated Towns lists have changed shape, including a new "Type 2" list where providers negotiate travel rather than receiving a remote price loading.
